Do you have a dream house?

Where do you want to live, as in heaven on earth? Many people dream on and off about that very private, most perfect place. One's own, almost too good to be true, Casa Bella!

Destinations are as wide-ranging as there are minds. Home is where the heart is! The dream may be affordable, accessible, without people around, impacting on the most pristine nook where fairies are wont to play. None of those on other days! Do the best ones have to linger as dreams forever?

The range of the earthly paradise is wide:

Sanctuary in nature, the remote green valley, mountain or sea, oasis with palm trees. Sensible asks: fire, drought, access road, loneliness, and safety. 

What about the opposite? City of excitement, lazing in appealing coffee shops, the right art and music, full of otherworldly cultural stimulation. Sensible asks: noise, cost, rat race, lonely in the crowd, and safety.

Inbetween, there’s the village neighbourhood, simple lifestyle, lifelong friends, trusted acquaintances, smiles all day long, the close-knit family. Sensible asks: bothersome neighbours, gossip, pettiness, recalcitrant kids, and boredom. 

The edge of the world, the dramatic lure of extreme experiences. No sight or sound of the madding crowd, peace and solitude, alone with the stars and the elements, the rarest forms of exhilaration. Sensible asks: supplies, access to medical facilities, funds, and safety.

Inward emphasis, the cocoon of the self-made inner sanctuary sustained by life focus, oblivious of what happens elsewhere. Without a care about what the rest of the world does, or looks like. Sensible asks: antisocial, sustainable, needs therapy.

In plant world one meets all of these types growing in the veld, sometimes in the botanical garden. A good thing life on earth is finite! Right?
