These Helichrysum retortum flowers are getting on in their flowering cycle. Only the tall inner row of involucral bracts are still white here. The discs of florets in the centres of the heads are also losing their yellow colour.
Against the backdrop of lichen covered rock and some Delosperma leaves they still make a striking show close to the beach.
